洞爺湖 - Lake Toya & Yotei - 10/19-20/2022

A short drive from Usuzan to arrive at the onsen hotel I found (again on Booking.com) as a last minute booking. The onsen hotel while not the best or most highly rated had a fantastic view (which is the first image you see here when I arrived.

Although a beautiful view, I had somewhat of a sleepless evening after I found numerous stink bugs to be all over the draperies which I am guessing made their way in through either the poor window seal or the large sliding glass doors were left open on night.
I walked around the town during the evening I arrived and this hand bath was out side of Zekkei No Yuyado Toya Kohantei (洞爺 湖畔亭)

After I turned the lights out they would suddenly all start flying around banging into the walls so made for a late night disposing of them.
Anyway, all said, I woke up very early again given my planned drive and hike at Hokkaido Komagatake volcano which meant another 2 hour drive.
I was able to capture these photos of Nakajima Island (not to be confused with another island of the same name in Lake Kussharo) is a recursive island in the middle of the lake which houses the Tōya Lake Forest Museum. You will also see Mount Yotei off to the left of the immediate image with the cloud cap and below as well.
My morning visitor...
